LAW EXPERIENCE GENERAL BACKGROUND:
  • Joined the law firm of Gill & Baldwin in 1975; partner in 1977, and is "AV" rated
  • Specializes in area of construction law, dealing with both transactional matters and litigation
  • Construction expertise attributed, in part, to working for a construction company from 1960-1975. Positions held with the company included, grade and asphalt paving foreman, superintendent, and later vice president and general manager. Experience includes grading streets and highways, installing asphalt, concrete curbs. gutters and sidewalks, sewers and small storm drains and other minor concrete structures. Also did cost accounting work and oversaw the company’s operation of three commercial asphalt plants and two commercial rock, sand and gravel plants

ADR EXPERIENCE:
  • Certified Mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court and JSOPS.
  • Was tried numerous cases in Superior arid Municipal Court, and administrative. hearings involving litigation and arbitration with the State of California Department of Transportation, the Corps of Engineers, Department of Defense, and others
  • Has practiced in over 70 mediations as an advocate, one of which involved a dispute exceeding $34,000,000
